Members are reminded of the very special meeting at Lockwood on Thursday [Nov 11] at 8pm to discuss the club’s incorporation. This is a most important issue so please attend. Another diary note is Saturday November 27 when, after the Manchester match, the 1st XV is organising a karaoke evening.
Our congratulations now to Club Manager Gary and Banqueting Co-ordinator Lisa on the birth of a son – named Max David. Mother and baby are doing well. Meanwhile Anna Cleave has taken on much of Lisa’s work while she’s on maternity leave and is currently working on getting the new club website live and email addresses for all club members. There is still a large number of addresses to be confirmed. Most subscriptions have now been received – the exception being a few wayward rugby players who should not now be playing if their subs are outstanding.
Club management is monitoring very carefully the position of the Park Valley Mills company as the administrator decides on its future. Our interest is that the company owns the dam off Brewery Drive and also land between our junior pitches and the Police Sports Ground further up the valley.
Harking back to last Saturday, Jason Robinson was unavailable to play for Fylde due to injury but endeared himself to Huddersfield officials at the pre-match lunch when he completely answered all questions from the floor. He was very professional in his approach and has brought significant new membership to the club as well as assisting Brian Ashton, the former England Coach, in rugby administration in all sections of the club.
