Tom Owen scored his first try for the Yorkshire Senior Side as they overcame Northumberland by 36 points to 22 on Saturday, 24th May.
Yorkshire won two out of their three games to finish 2nd in their group behind Lancashire in the Bill Beaumont Cup.
Owen said: “It was quite a close game until the last 20 minutes or so. From a personal point of view it was good to get my first Yorkshire try.”
Speaking about his experience with the county side, Owen said: “It was quite difficult at first with the style of play being different to anything I’ve experienced but once I got up to speed and got on the same wavelength as the other players it was really good and just a proud moment for me.
“Being involved in the ‘Roses’ game at Scarborough was just an awesome experience and will hopefully stand me in good stead for next year.”
