A message received from England Rugby to HRUFC:
The intense activity surrounding England’s continuing RBS 6 Nations campaign has seen a level of support from our clubs and rugby communities nationwide which is hugely appreciated, especially as players, coaches and professional staff are very aware of the difficulties that many clubs have been facing in recent weeks.
With over a quarter of all planned rugby fixtures across league and merit tables postponed or rearranged due to the weather, inspiring stories of how clubs and the rugby family have pulled together to solve problems in training and playing, have shown the true spirit of the game.
The values highlighted by our clubs and teams mirror the culture running throughout the England set up. Supporting each other and sharing a common belief that together we are stronger and better prepared sees us much tougher and more robust than we can ever be as individuals.
Knowing that clubs across the country are sticking together, that volunteers are giving up even more of their time to ensure players of all ages will get a game this weekend, gives us the perfect motivation in the England set up and at Twickenham to do everything possible to succeed and support you in the way you support the game.
As we look forward to meeting Wales at Twickenham on Sunday, we know that all of you will be working together to get teams out onto the pitches wherever you can. We know that for rugby in this country to be the best it can be your role is fundamental and success is defined not only by winning England teams but also by strong and vibrant clubs at the centre of their communities.
Without your efforts rugby could not continue to thrive so from all of us a sincere thank you for your continued efforts, hard work and spirit of togetherness.
