By N Lawless

Huddersfield has completed the triple signing of Sam Walker, Jordan Wood and Joshua Bird as they continue to boost their squad ahead of their National II North campaign.

Huddersfield has been busy in the market this year and Bird said this had an impact on his decision to join: “The club have has made a lot of good signings this summer so I’m hopeful we can have a good year.”

Walker, who Huddersfield snapped up from Keighley said: “This is the highest level I’ve played at so I’m excited.

“A few clubs were interested in me but once Huddersfield came in I knew exactly where I wanted to go.”

Wood stated: “I wanted to test myself at a higher level, improve myself as a player and achieve better things. I’m looking forward to achieving that with Huddersfield.”

Head Coach Gareth Lewis said of the new signings: “We’ve been looking to recruit younger lads from a bit lower down the leagues to complement the more experienced players. We hope to have unearthed some hidden gems”.
