HRUFC VS STOURBRIDGE MATCH PREVIEW

By N Lawless

Huddersfield will be looking to bounce back quickly from Saturday’s last-gasp defeat to Luctonians with a good result against Stourbridge.

Last year’s National 3 North’s champions are yet to register their first league victory since promotion but performances have been promising for the new boys.

‘Field started the season with a narrow defeat to a strong Chester side, drew against Harrogate and let a lead slip in the final few minutes at Luctonians.

If it wasn’t for late tries in all three of the matches Huddersfield could quite easily have won all of their matches so far. Keeping the concentration levels high till the final whistle will certainly be a motivation for the team on Saturday.

Stourbridge’s season got off to a great start with two wins in their opening two matches against two of Huddersfield’s previous opponents, Harrogate and Luctonians.

However, that winning start came to an abrupt end last Saturday with a hefty 42-17 to Leicester Lions, Huddersfield’s next opponents.

It’s still early days but Stourbridge will be looking to get their season back on track if they are to be looking up rather than down.

It will certainly be another stern test for Huddersfield as they look to make their mark on the new campaign. Kick off at Lockwood Park on Saturday is 3pm.
