Huddersfield head coach Gareth Lewis has announced that highly-rated strength and conditioning coach Rob Leighton has agreed a return to Lockwood Park for the team’s preparations for the next season’s National Two North campaign.
Coach Lewis has been looking for an S&C coach with the right credentials and with the right fit for the squad for several months.
“We’re very lucky that Rob has agreed to rejoin us,” said Lewis. “He came personally recommended with all the credentials two seasons ago and did an outstanding job with the players.
“They really responded to him first time round and I’m sure he’ll have us in top shape for the start of next season.”
Elsewhere former Bradford and Bingley man Adam Malthouse is the latest to agree terms for next season.
The 22-year-old back or second row has been one of the many successes this season with his strong ball carrying and line out leadership.
Coach Lewis commented: “I’m very happy Adam is with us again next season. He’s had an excellent first season and is really growing into the role of line out captain. With a strong pre season under his belt I think we’ll see even better performances from him next season”.
