Fred Woodhouse, captain of the u15’s was selected to attend a North of England two-day training camp which was held recently at the Weetwood training campus in Leeds. Fred, younger brother to U18 Academy captain Harry, is part of the Yorkshire Carnegie Junior development squad and following a recent six team tournament in Sheffield involving Premiership U15 teams – Sale Sharks, Leicester Tigers, Northampton Saints, Worcester Warriors and Newcastle Falcons – a group of 12 players from the Carnegie JDS squad were chosen by the England selectors to attend the training camp. They joined up with other players from Sale Sharks and Newcastle Falcons.
As part of the England RFU U16s pathway, 36 players are chosen from four areas – the North, Midlands, London and the South West – to attend the four associated camps and all teams from the premiership are represented.
We wish Fred all the best and as a club are very proud of his achievements to date.
