As a highly satisfactory rugby season draws to a close it is a fitting time to acknowledge all those members whose voluntary work on behalf of the club enables it to run so successfully. There are many different groups who give their time freely and generously to keep things ticking over.
Our senior club officers and committee…the executive if you like. Bringing their professional skills to bear to keep the ‘business’ that is HRUFC running smoothly.
Our Age Grade coaches, managers, officers, coordinators and referees…so many good folk creating the opportunity for youngsters to enjoy sport.
Our Rugby Committee and officers…working behind the scenes on and off the field to make possible the games that take place on it.
Our secretaries, managers, coaches and captains…fixtures; match; fourth official; programme; ground; property; membership; marketing; First XV; Falcons; A Team; Academy; Girls.
Our gatemen…Chris Evans’ team of stalwarts who greet visitors on match day with such good humour and accumulate a vital source of income for the club.
The Lockwood Park Volunteers…a new group formed this year which gathers on Tuesdays and do lots of physical work around the grounds to assist our groundsmen and keep the place spic and span.
Our other sports section helpers…bowling, hockey, squash, running and snooker. We are a multi-sport club and every section has its own group of people dedicated to help running it.
A huge thankyou to you all. Your dedication to your club contributes massively to making it the successful one that it is.
Richard Sykes President HRUFC.
PS…if you are interested in helping in any way please step forward. Volunteering is very rewarding and new helpers are always welcome. Don’t be afraid to make yourself known.
