It has been a frustrating few weeks at the club with no let up in the poor weather, meaning a number of senior and age grade games getting called off due to waterlogged pitches. Although the rainfall has been unprecedented for this time of year, the club is looking to do all it can to ensure that the pitches are playable as often as possible.
As such the club is currently fundraising for a verti-drainer to help improve the pitches. Verti-Draining helps alleviate waterlogging and deeply aerates the ground to promote healthy growth. The ‘Verti-Drain’ decompacts soil on sports pitches by inserting equally spaced holes in the turf which allow water and air to filter through to the grass roots. This should help keep the pitches playable.
