Congratulations to Chris Evans who has been chosen as ‘Clubman of the Year’ for the 2019/20 season.
The former First XV fly half was presented with the Jeff Hooper Memorial Trophy by outgoing President Dereck Tasker at the AGM. Chris has recently retired from his job as Head of Infrastructure Application at Leeds Beckett University and Dereck praised his voluntary contribution to club affairs.
Since retirement Chris has taken on responsibility for updating the club archive, statistics and playing records. Additionally he has managed the match day ‘gate’, which Dereck commented has seen a significant increase in takings, and he has been an active member of the Lockwood Park Volunteers.
Grandfather Chris has still not hung up his boots. Having turned out for the club on recent tours he also assists with the coaching of our Under 16’s in which grandson Liam plays. Chris began his playing career with HRUFC at Easter 1975. Well done Chris!
