After a career in journalism stretching back to 1978 Huddersfield Examiner Sports Editor Mel Booth has retired. Mel attended Holme Valley Grammar School and joined the Examiner as Chief Football Writer in 1985 after early stints with other provincial papers.
He became Sports Editor in 2006 supervising the coverage of our games and rugby union in general developing an excellent working relationship with our media team.
Mel is a passionate Huddersfield Town supporter and reported their games throughout his career. He also enjoyed cricket and was a leading light at Scholes CC as a player and club official as well as being a member of our club.
