The town of Huddersfield has a new online news presence. The recently launched Huddersfield Hub has been developed by former Huddersfield Examiner Editor Martin Shaw and young sports journalist Steven Downes. The project aims to give the town positive online coverage and will focus on topics of specifically local interest in which sport will feature prominently.
Martin has 34 years of experience in journalism. Steven graduated in Sports Journalism from Huddersfield University in 2017 and has since worked as a rugby league Communications Manager and produced articles for local and national newspapers including The Sun and Mirror.
Steven says, ‘Huddersfield Hub is a new news network for the town which aims to be a positive, uplifting and unbiased site that people can rely on. Without the daily pressure of statistics Huddersfield Hub will be a clean and free to read news website that provides proper journalistic stories.’
‘We have many years of experience in the industry and are well connected throughout the town. Working alongside businesses, sports clubs and community projects we want to bring Huddersfield a reliable community news agency.’
‘We want people to come with us on this journey to help create one of the best community news websites in the country and be part of our Huddersfield Hub.’
All at HRUFC wish the new venture every success and look forward to forming a productive partnership with it. The first edition is out and contains a piece about the club.
