Vicki Spiers has stepped down after 11 years of loyal and devoted service as our Fixture Secretary. She combined the role with that of Fixture Secretary for the Age Grade and discharged her duties for both sections energetically and efficiently. Despite the inevitable frustrations that come with the job Vicki always worked positively and cheerfully for the benefit of all our teams.
In 2019 Vicki was presented with the Jeff Hooper Memorial Trophy and named ‘Clubman of the Year’ in recognition of her outstanding service for our club.
All members of Vicki’s family are great club folk and like her they have taken on vital responsibilities to help keep HRUFC running smoothly. Son Elliott rose through our Age Grade to become a first team player and last season he took on the role as Falcon’s team captain. Alas the talented youngster suffered a serious knee ligament injury at the beginning of his tenure and had to undergo major reconstructive surgery. Happily he is back to full fitness now and like every other player keenly awaiting the green light to take to the field again. Vicki’s daughter Emmy has been a cheerful presence behind our bars and at our functions as well as doing a great job for the club with her wonderful photography; her late father Richard was a club Patron and President of the Borough Club; husband Ian was touch judge at the Falcon’s games.
A huge thank you from all at the club Vicki, we hope you enjoy some stress free weekends now that you have vacated the hot seat!
