HELPING TO HELP OTHERS AND CREATE A POSITIVE MIND SET

HRUFC’s women and girl’s head rugby coach Jess Bunyard has also taken on the responsibility as club coordinator for mental well-being. This is an area that sports clubs like ours and other institutions are being increasingly expected to give due consideration to.

As part of Huddersfield RUFC’s project into making the club mentally fit Jess has arranged for the club to host a talk via Zoom with ‘State of Mind’.

State of Mind work within different sports but particularly rugby to get people talking about mental health. We will be sending out a Zoom link closer to the time. Our speakers are Jo Phillips and Jimmy Gittens who will share their stories on playing rugby league, their struggles with mental health and how we can recognise and support people within our environment who may be struggling.

The talk is free to access and will take place on Monday
10th May starting at 7.30pm.
