Congratulations to Mark and Joanna Birch on winning the 2021 HRUFC mixed pairs handicap knock out competition. In a repeat of last year’s final, they defeated Brian and Anne Stephenson 21-18.
Towards the end of an exciting match, it looked like Brian and Anne were set to retain the title they won last year. With Brian on lead he and Anne were 18-16 to the good. However, Mark and Joanna scored a maximum four points from the end to take them to ‘all but’ and then got the single point they needed for victory at the next one.
