The Under 14s first outing in the Yorkshire Cup resulted in an excellent team performance, which saw the boys overcome a very skilful and well organised Scarborough team.
In an entertaining first half, Huddersfield eased into a 10-0 lead. Following a stoppage of play for a serious injury to a Scarborough player, Huddersfield found themselves in a very competitive game and in the second half, Scarborough took the lead with four impressive tries. With 10 minutes to go, the Under 14s trailed 10-20. However, the boys showed character and determination and ran in 3 tries to take the lead, and resisted some late Scarborough pressure to seal their place in the next round.
A great game to watch, the boys are learning all the time and adapting well to competitive rugby after 2 disrupted seasons. The parents and coaches were immensely proud of the Under14s performance – onwards and upwards!
