The second game of the season for the U13s took us to Beverley. This was the first time we have had the privilege of playing against them. We received a very warm and friendly welcome off the pitch. On the pitch, it was an exciting and entertaining game. Whilst Finley Watson will secure the headlines, it was his teammates who won the ball through their aggressive rucking and then accurately weighted passes, allowing him to run into the gaps. Finley ran and challenged all of their defenders with his excellent running lines, hard acceleration, and an eye for a gap. The tries scored, bar 1 or 2, showed the exciting potential of this team to entertain. Beverley never gave up and, aside from the first 15 minutes, each following quarter was evenly contested. There were several important lessons learnt from the game, and we are all looking forward to seeing our next opponents, Scunthorpe, this Sunday.
