It is with regret that Huddersfield have had to cancel this Saturday’s game against Hull due to being unable to field a front row, as Callum Thompson is the only prop available for the game.
After trying to solve the issue all week, it has unfortunately proven unsuccessful. It has been a problem all season and the management team have tried every avenue to rectify it, but there is just a massive lack of props available in the game.
Over the season we have relied on 4 loan props, these include Andy Rollins who has returned to parent club DMP, who themselves are struggling following a long term injury to one of their props and former Field player Josh Crickmay getting injured in last weeks game, which will see him on the sidelines for a couple of weeks.
This week Loz Sanderson is unavailable due to other commitments and Jack Smith is on a well earned family holiday. Lewis Brook was injured warming up against Luctonians and will be out of action for around another 4 weeks. Joe Shiel suffered a broken leg earlier in the season and is yet to return. Sam Mann is busy saving lives as a paramedic and is yet to play this season and young new signing Harris Hussain is playing for his school on Saturday. We have even asked two former players to play as a one-off but unfortunately, they were both unavailable due to injuries.
Apologies to Hull, match officials and those that were travelling over to watch the game.
