Beverley V HRUFC u16s 30th January 2022

It was set up to be a classic following our near defeat in the cup. We arrived with a squad of 22 which for an away game at Beverley is testament to the spirit in the U16 family, players and parents.

For coaches out there juggling 22 players is not an easy task as it can play havoc with the team’s balance. That’s the excuse I am using for what turned out to be a disappointing performance from our lads.

Beverley’s power is their back line and yet again we failed to close them down quickly enough. On paper we are more than equal and a good dose of confidence and tactical thinking will bring us to their level.

17-0 down at half time we did bring it back to 17-10 early in the second half and there was a small glimmer that we could do it. Sadly it went the other way and we ended up losing 39-10.

When you lose you must understand why and what you need to do to put it right. We do and we will!!
