The Special Guest Speaker will be National League Rugby Chairman John Inverdale. We will also have Yorkshire RFU President David Hunter speaking as well as comedian Lea Roberts. Members and non-members welcome.
John Inverdale is the current National League Rugby Chairman as well as one of Britain’s most well-known sporting broadcasters. During his radio career, he has presented coverage of many major sporting events including the Olympic Games, Wimbledon, the Grand National and the FIFA World Cup. He was the main television presenter of Today at Wimbledon until 2014 and has hosted television coverage of sports programmes including Rugby Special and Grandstand. He has presented ITV’s coverage of the Rugby World Cup and the French Open.
David Hunter became the Yorkshire RFU President in 2021 and will be regaling guests with his stories from the game.
Lea Roberts is a comedian, after-dinner speaker and awards host from Halifax. Since winning the TV Series “Stand Up Britain” back in 2002 Lea has become one of the most sought-after and well-known faces on the after-dinner circuit, working all over the UK and abroad.
The evening is a black-tie event and includes a four-course meal. The meal consists of Parsnip and Red Chilli soup with a savoury scone, Aromatic slow cooked Lamb Shank with seasonal potatoes and vegetables, Individual homemade fruit cheesecake
Artisan cheese and wafers with chutney, plus Fairtrade filter coffee. Tickets are £40 per head and places are filling up fast.
