Tomorrow’s game against Sedgley Park sees Nick Sharpe rack up his 350th First XV appearance for Huddersfield. He would have hit the milestone a lot earlier if it wasn’t for his penchant for collecting red cards and serving the resulting bans! His 350 appearances come from 339 starts plus 11 appearances from the bench. He has amassed a fantastic 125 tries in his Huddersfield career.
The 35-year old broke into the First XV in the 2007/08 season, playing number eight for the majority of his career before moving into the second row in the last few seasons. Nick is third in the all-time appearances for Huddersfield behind John Greenwood and Richard Auckland.
Nick was First XV captain from 2010-2016, 22 years after his father Julian was Huddersfield’s First XV captain. As captain, Nick led the club to Yorkshire Cup victory in 2011 when the team beat Hull 25-18 in the final. The team were also crowned National League Division Three (North) Champions 2012/13 under Nick’s leadership.
Congratulations on such a fantastic achievement.👏👏
