With the QEGS brigade away at a festival we pulled together a scratch squad of 17 to face 25 monsters from Bingley.
Throughout the lads’ career this fixture has always been a cracker with never too much between the 2 sides. Today was no different.
We are nothing but consistent with our slow start and found ourselves 12 behind at the half hour mark. The penny then dropped and the magic started with Henry Parkin scoring a cracking try just before half time.
The second half was nip and tuck with 2 more tries from Henry putting us in touch of a first victory of the year.
With 10 minutes to go our lads had no idea that they were only 5 behind, thinking it was many more. This was the incentive they needed with converted tries from Henry Forber and Ben Johnson leading us to a 34-29 victory.
A fantastic display of team work and resilience was the recipe for today.
Well done lads, bring on next week.
