A number of you will have witnessed the incident involving Manny in the First team game against Otley. It is always a concern when we see any player carried from the field on a spinal board.
Matt Treacy, the Senior Match Day Medic, reported that on the field he was unable to clear Manny’s Cx spine where major nerve bundles come out. There was also suspected direct trauma over the eye.
Every precaution was taken as a result and thankfully Manny was able to be cleared in hospital. He still has to follow the Concussion GRTP (Gradual Return to Play) Protocol, so should be available for selection from Saturday 4th March.
Thanks go to Matt, the Otley medical team and the paramedics for their swift and professional treatment.
