Vicki Spiers

The Club is extremely saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Vicki Spiers. Vicki gave 11 years of devoted service as our Fixture Secretary, a role she combined with that of Fixture Secretary for the Age Grade.

In 2018 Vicki was presented with the Jeff Hooper Memorial Trophy and named ‘Clubman of the Year’ in recognition of her outstanding service for our club.

The Spiers family came as a package and Vicki was a devoted wife of Ian who ran touch for our Falcons games for many years. A supportive and loving mother, son Elliott rose through our Age Grade to become a first team player, before making a switch to play for Heath RUFC and daughter Emmy worked behind the rugby club bar. Her late father Richard was a club Patron and President of the Borough Club.

We will never forget the moments we shared with Vicki. Her dedication, kindness and passion for rugby will always be cherished by our club members.

On behalf of our entire rugby club community, we extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to Ian, Elliott, Emmy and everyone at Heath RUFC on the passing of Vicki. We know that words cannot ease the pain of your loss, but please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May you find comfort in knowing that Vicki will always be remembered as a special member of our rugby family.

Vicki’s funeral will be on Thursday the 11th of May at 2:45pm and held at the Huddersfield Crematorium (64 Fixby Rd, Huddersfield HD2 2JF). After the service the family invite everyone down to Heath RUFC (North Dean, Stainland Rd, Greetland, Halifax HX4 8LS) to raise a glass.
