The Club is saddened to announce the passing of Derek Roberts, aged 80 who had been associated with the Club as a member since the mid 1980’s when he introduced his sons to ‘’mini rugby’’ now age grade.
Derek’s original home was on the Wirral, his business career commenced in Liverpool and progressed to Yorkshire where he became the Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Building Society and in this period the YBS’s support of Club and County rugby was significant.
Derek has been a regular supporter of the Club and his attendance at pre-match lunches and games will be missed.
The Club passes condolences to the family and friends.
The funeral service is at St.Lucius Church, Farnley Tyas on Friday 16th June 2023 at 12 pm.
