Adult Player Registration Engagement

From next season (2024/25) all players, in all formats of the Game (including non-contact), will be required to register to play rugby annually within RFU member clubs, including universities.

As part of this process, the RFU is seeking the views of players and those involved in player/team selection on some of the proposed next steps in the implementation of Adult Registration. This will take the form of online engagement sessions happening throughout October 2023.

These sessions are designed to gather your views and for you to help us shape certain aspects of the processes/regulations. The sessions cater for all levels and all formats of the game, helping to create effective two-way engagement right across the Adult game.

Play your part by joining an Adult Registration engagement session here.

Sessions will take place throughout October and are grouped to the level and format of the game closest to you. Once you register for a session we will be back in touch in due course.

The move to game-wide registration is intended to benefit the whole rugby community and brings Rugby Union in line with the majority of other Unions and other sports where this is common practice.

More information about the benefits of game-wide registration is available below.
