When the sun shines, why not play champagne rugby! We had champagne, washed down with some quality Tetleys!
The poor performance against Harrogate was put to bed before the game with the whole squad focused and on point from the start.
4 minutes in and Henry Parkin trusted his speed and all Keighley saw was his heel. Next up it was Lance Barker converting Henry’s try and then landing a penalty and a converted try for himself.
Joe Brook fancied a bit of the fun with 2 tries (yes converted by Lance again) to bring us into the break 24-0 ahead.
The second half started where we left off, but points seemed a little hard to come by. 20 minutes in and Charlie Rust sorted that with a great try (Barker conversion again).
It was very hot and we’ll allow our titans a little bit of grace with Keighley scoring a couple of tries towards the end.
It wouldn’t be right if Lance didn’t end the day with another signature try that he converted.
The whole team played wonderfully today but it would be wrong not to heap more praise on the back line. They were simply magnificently. Every time the ball went out the Keighley lads groaned. Speed, hands, feet were all in sync.
I think you can tell the coaches and team management were happy today.
Thanks lads, it was a treat to watch you.
Final score 38-10.
