Age Grade Round Up- MASSIVE Colts Semi Final Win!!!

Huddersfield Colts 51 0 Driffield Colts…..Yorkshire Plate semi-final.
Colts shine to reach Plate final!
Let’s start with thanks to Mark Davis for making an 08:00 pitch inspection and giving us the green light to go.
Henry Forber who celebrated his 18th birthday today got us underway with the first try which was converted from the touchline by Lance Barker. HRUFC were on the front foot from then on and the try fest continued with Harry Fuller, Frankie Kilroy and Rufus Helm all getting over the line with all but one converted by Lance who also kicked a penalty to give the lads a solid 29-0 lead going into half time. We have a big squad and sadly 4 lads didn’t make the team sheet today. What is fabulous is that all 4 and 2 injured players turned up to support.
The second half started with the return of the uber popular Amir Dawodu. At one point Driffield must have thought we had brought on the prodigal son as every time Amir touched the ball the crowd went wild and so they should as guess what, he scored five minutes into the second half. Another moment of the day was Joe Brook captaining the team whilst Harry Thomason was off. Whatever Joe has for breakfast we should all try it; he is a one man dynamo and following his try he celebrated like he’d just won the 6 nations.
There are many lads who put in solid performances week after week, one of those is Alex Exley who ran a beautiful line to score a well deserved try. Guess what, the poster boy Amir did it again and to top it off converted his own try! Not quite finished, Captain Harry Thomason finished the day with a try in the corner to end the cup semi-final 51-0 to HRUFC. BRING ON THE FINAL!!!
The Colts will take on either Ilkley or Ripon at Doncaster on 28th april. A game not to be missed! Written by Colin Thomason

It was a cold and frosty game on Sunday morning. The Huddersfield U14’s didn’t let the cold slow them down with some great scrums and rucks. The Joe Sheil training has definitely paid off. Great ball passing and kicking decisions to help us with a win 33-24
Leeds came back second half fighting and was very close. A good solid game by both sides

An early start and a long journey did not deter our Under 11’s this morning at Sheffield Tigers RUFC. A truly fantastic defensive display gave us plenty of attacking opportunities. A brilliant team performance with so many different players scoring some superb tries!
