Welcome to The A Team – Huddersfield’s 3rd XV – fuelled by a love of rugby, banter, and Guinness.
Run by club legend Joseph Shiel and his left-hand man Andy Lyon, The A Team is all about enjoying the game, the camaraderie, and the occasional pint, without taking ourselves too seriously.
We play a friendly mix of Friday night lights and Saturday afternoon clashes, perfect for those who still want to throw a ball around without committing to five training sessions or having to play every week. Our squad ranges from former first-team players with bad knees to total newcomers, so whether you’ve never passed a ball or you’ve had international honours, you’ll find your place
New players are always welcome, no trials, no pressure. And if you happen to be half-decent, well… even better.
We don’t have training, but some of us do take part in social touch and pass on a Thursday evening – a great way to meet some of the lads if you fancy coming down.
If you’re after great games, great mates, and a team that knows how to have a laugh, then congratulations, you’ve found your people.
